We caught up BIMM London’s amazing Dani Hart to find out all about her song Broken Down. Enjoy!
What was the inspiration behind your track?
Some stories here and there that started pouring into a simple guitar-based tune.
What did your songwriting process involve?
I was just trying out some riffs when I came up with the introduction and the lyrics started to flow immediately from that. The whole song was written in less than an hour.
What things do you do differently to other bands?
There are forty three years difference in age between our youngest and oldest member and between us all there are five nationalities and seven spoken languages. We are fronted and backed by two female artists (Dani Vocals, Diana Drums).
Also, we want to play rock until we die.
Can you describe your sound in three words?
Loud, catchy, groovy.
Have you channeled any artist in particular on this track?
Not for this one (or at least not consciously) but the track has some hints of grunge.
What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?
The people at BIMM!
What’s the best bit of music advice you’ve been given?
Go for it with no fear.
What’s next for you?
We will be playing a couple of gigs in April, May and June and are releasing our first EP ‘Let The Children’ in mid May at Nambucca. Also we are organising a European tour and applying to as many festivals as we can think of! Pushing it all the way!
