Julia Ruzicka

College Principal

Julia is a passionate and dedicated musician who has worked within the music industry in a number of different roles, as well as being professionally active as a bassist for the last 15 years.

As a musician she’s toured the UK, Europe, USA and Australia numerous times, as well as appearing at most major summer festivals across the UK and Europe. Along with being a live musician, she’s also recorded a number of critically acclaimed albums with her own bands that have gone on to be highly influential within the alternative music scene.

Industry-wise her experience is vast, having worked at record labels (Island Records, Universal, Warner Music Group) and in live bookings (Helter Skelter). She’s also worked in the fields of radio (as a presenter and producer), tour management, artist management, and media production (BBC), as well as setting up her own indie record label, Prescriptions. Julia is a big advocate of independent music and has delivered guest lectures for BIMM on DIY music models, tour production and PR.
