Music Journalism Module Leader

Tom is one of the founders and Company Directors of Crack Industries Ltd, the team behind Bristol born culture freesheet Crack Magazine.

Having graduated from Cardiff University in 2008 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Newspaper Journalism, Tom founded Crack Magazine in 2009 with business partner Jake Applebee. In their eight years of operation the culture focused magazine is now a nationally circulated publication with editions in both Amsterdam and Berlin. Tom was the original editor of Crack before taking up and editor-in-chief position. He now looks after the running of the company with his business partner Jake Applebee.

Tom is also a director at Simple Things Festival – Bristol’s premier one-day multi-venue music event. Having been involved in the festival for five years with Crack, they have overseen its transformation from small event to one of the most critically respected and musically forward facing events in the country.
