Simon Hutchby
Lecturer, Music Production *
Simon teaches Music Production at BIMM Music Institute Brighton. He has been actively working in the music industry for over 20 years. Starting out in the very late 90's as a drummer, he has toured the world more times than he cares to remember and released eight studio albums in a musical career spanning over fifteen years.
Post-band, Simon naturally progressed into live touring production and has worked as a FOH and Monitor engineer for many major artists including: In Flames, Extreme, Ghost, The Used, Calvin Harris, Hoobastank, Skindred and Kelis just to name just a few.
Additionally, Simon also runs a successful commercial recording studio in Brighton and hove. ALT Recording studios.
He is module leader of the Recording Skills Diploma course and also teaches Live sound and Event management as part of the Diploma and BA team.
