Dahlia Borsche is musicologist specialising in the fields of popular music studies and music sociology. Her research interests focus on contemporary and transcultural music processes, thereby expanding traditional discipline boundaries to the fields of sound, urban and cultural studies.
Besides her academic career, Dahlia was active as a curator, promoter, and DJ. Between 2006 and 2009 she worked as coordination manager and producer at CTM Festival (Berlin). After she completed her Master’s degree in 2009, she took up a job as research assistant in the newly created study programme “Applied Musicology” at Alpen-Adria-Universität in Klagenfurt (Austria).
While there, she also curated the concert programme of Lendspiel Festival. Between 2015 and 2018 she worked as full time research associate in the department of Musicology and Media Studies at Humboldt University Berlin. Among many other projects, Dahlia has been curating CTM Festival’s Discourse programme since 2015 and is currently finishing her PhD project at the University of Cologne.
