This two-year vocational course is equivalent to three A-levels, and is designed to develop your sound production skills and event management knowledge over a variety of modules. You’ll learn how to stage your own events and gigs, and record and produce music on stage and in a studio, giving you a rounded experienced of how to get music out to an audience through all the channels used today.
You’ll develop essential live music skills to a semi-professional level, including front of house and monitor live sound mixing, backline technician support, tour management and live recording.
You’ll have a fantastic time studying a subject you feel enthusiastic about, collaborating creatively with fellow aspiring musicians, producers and entrepreneurs, and connecting with the industry. As a BIMM student, many exciting ‘money can’t buy’ networking opportunities will come your way, such as end-of-term gig performances, Masterclasses with global musicians, and many more.
You’ll be guided by expert tutors and prominent music industry professionals to help steer you towards your future career or study goals. All in all, it’s a practical and vocational course which will give you a holistic understanding of the live music industry and the way it operates.
The diploma is a great gateway to either taking your first steps in a music industry career or continuing with study in the form of a music degree at BIMM, such as the BA (Hons) in Music Production or BA (Hons) in Event Management.
UK and EU students aged 18 and under are eligible for free funding (subject to academic requirements).
