Music Performance (Indie/Pop)

Summer School

Overview

Every year at BIMM, we run a range of Summer Schools for musicians looking to develop their technique and their confidence as live performers. So if you’re a guitarist, singer, bassist or drummer, a BIMM Summer School is a fantastic way to spend your break.

The Music Performance Summer School (Indie/Pop) runs over five days and consists of four mornings of dedicated tuition on your instrument, followed by a live performance workshop every afternoon to hone your performance skills on stage guided by your tutors and a different special guest each day. The last day will involve forming bands, and rehearsing your favourite track of the week, in preparation for an afternoon performance for your friends and family.

During the Summer School you’ll learn tracks by artists like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the Foo Fighters and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

You will receive expert tuition from our BIMM tutors including Erik Stams (Drums), Kelly Fraser (Vocals), Dave Troke (Bass) and Sandy Buglass (Guitar).

Then to add to the excitement we’ll even throw in some special guests. In the past we’ve been joined by Phil Simmonds (Jessie J, Angel Haze, Leona Lewis), Dexter Hercules (Rita Ora, Pixie Lott, Olly Murs), Ben Martinez (Jessie J), Randolph Matthews (Looper), Ben Thompson (Two Door Cinema Club, Hudson Mohawke) and Adam Goldsmith (Elton John, Brian May, Beverley Knight)!
