In early November BIMM London’s Dan Tsu (who leads the Event Management Module and also tutors on the (BA Hons) Music Business course) co-produced a major live music event with his company Lyrix Organix.

The UK Beatbox Championships: 10 Year Anniversary at Clapham Grand was a hugely successful show, with over 1000 attendees and live streamed to over 90 countries worldwide.

Particularly exciting was the fact that 13 BIMM Event Management students took up paid or volunteer roles as part of the Event Production team. They were instrumental in the success of this culturally significant event – gaining invaluable work experience ranging from Stage Management to Production Assistant roles. This built on the previous opportunities provided by Lyrix Organix for BIMM students, which have included production roles at Glastonbury Festival. BIMM London’s recent addition to the Student Support team, Dean Hewins, was also Head of Artist Liaison.

Dan describes the success of BIMM students at the event; “I made a call out to all Event Management students for volunteers and we had a great bunch of enthusiastic first years apply. My company Lyrix Organix runs lots of youth education projects and wherever possible we like to offer young people unique work experience opportunities to work with a cutting-edge live production company. The feedback about BIMM student involvement was overwhelmingly positive. Their contribution was brilliant and made a huge impact”.

Watch out for more exciting opportunities from Lyrix Organix for BIMM students!
