Róisín O’Hagan Through to Final Round of Fender Undiscovered

9 July, 2018

BIMM London Music Journalism undergraduate Róisín O’Hagan has made it to the grand final of Fender’s Undiscovered Artist Of The Year 2018.

The young singer-songwriter released her debut EP last year and has since been building up a solid reputation through an impressively dedicated touring schedule which has taken her all across the south of England – and all whilst studying a full-time degree!

She’s even found time to record in-between her studies and touring. Check out Róisín’s latest single ‘Drive’ below.

Fender’s Unsigned Artist of the year 2018 has seen Róisín competing alongside 11 other talented unsigned artists from across the UK in three separate heats, which were voted upon by the public. Having battled her way through to the final as one of the competition’s favourite artists, Roisin’s final performance will be judged at a live gig which takes place at London’s Tufnell Park Dome by a panel of industry professionals consisting of:

    • Max Helyer – Guitarist (Youmeatsix)
    • Georgie Rogers – DJ/Radio presenter/Music Journalist
    • Neil Whitcher – A&R for Fender Europe
    • Roisin O’Connor – Music Journalist

Speaking of the experience of the competition so far, BIMM undergraduate Róisín had this to say;

“Being a Fender Undiscovered Artist of the Year 2018 finalist has been the biggest and most exciting opportunity I’ve had so far with my music. Spending the day filming with Fender for the heats was a great experience and I was overwhelmed at the positive comments I got from the judges after performing my song Living In The Dark in front of them.”

She continued. “It’s crazy to think I’ve made it to the final three – I was really nervous as it was down to a public vote. I’m excited for the live final on July 10th where I will be performing in front of the industry judges once again for a chance to be named Fender Undiscovered Artist of the Year and go to LA with Fender.”

We wish Róisín the very best of luck for the grand final, which takes place on July 10, 2018. Doors are at 6.45pm and you can register your attendance at the event by emailing [email protected]
