Careers & Industry

8 May, 2018

At BIMM, we understand how making a success of yourself in the music industry often requires a helping hand from someone who knows the ropes. Which is exactly why each BIMM campus is equipped with a dedicated Careers Team whose primary objective is to offer our students expert advice from years of experience in the field, as well as invaluable work placements and experience opportunities.

Whatever your area of expertise, being a music industry professional often requires a multifaceted skill set. If you’re an independent performer, you’ll need to learn how to manage your time effectively, broker your own fees and avoid common pitfalls. If your aim is to work behind the scenes in the business, you’re going to have to learn how to begin building your network of contacts as well as the fundamentals like writing a good CV or email.

Our careers and industry staff are on-hand to teach you how to do all of these things and much more besides. They’ll give you support to help build-up your industry skills in an exciting and hands-on fashion, thanks to one-to-one careers tutorials and an array of valuable work experience placements at some of the music industry’s most influential companies including Universal, PRS for Music and SJM Concerts.

Take a look at this handful of tutor profile videos from across our campuses to see who will be offering you help with your professional development.
