A selection of BIMM Brighton and BIMM London acts have been selected to perform at the inaugural ‘LoveBN1 Fest’ at Brighton’s Preston Park this August.
The event, which runs in association with Brighton Pride festival 2018, will see eight different acts performing on the BIMM live stage on Sunday the 5th – one day after the dazzling Pride street parade has made its way through town to its destination at Preston Park.
In its very first year, this newest addition to the Brighton Pride weekend boasts an impressive line-up featuring the likes of Jess Glynne, Gabrielle, Raye, Rowetta (Happy Mondays), House Gospel Choir and Ariana & The Rose. Plus, a headline slot from Chic guitar legend (and previous Masterclass guest) Nile Rogers, whose recent single ‘Till The World Falls‘ features BIMM London’s very own ‘Cosha‘ on vocals.
The BIMM Live Stage boasts an incredibly strong line-up of its own, with an eclectic mix of acts showcasing their talent. And of course it’s a fantastic opportunity for all of the performers to reach a whole new audience – Pride Festival 2017’s attendance figures charted at around the 300,000 mark, so there’s good reason to believe a large portion of those attending will be sticking around for the whole weekend.
The event officially kicks off at 1.30pm, with the BIMM Live stage running as follows.
LoveBN1 Fest is a great new addition to BIMM’s summer festival program, which sees us providing performance opportunities at various festivals around the UK and Europe, including The Great Escape, 2000 Trees, Arctangent, YNOT, Reeperbahn, Sound City and of course Glastonbury.
Holly Blake, guitarist and singer from Brighton garage-indie trio ‘Currls’ described the band’s excitement about performing at the new event.
“It’s such an amazing opportunity to play at LoveBN1Fest. This is the time of year where the LGBTQ+ community can come together and we are honoured to be celebrating with everyone this year.”
So, how about it? Fancy finishing up Brighton Pride weekend with a fantastic line-up of live music in one of Brighton’s most relaxing open spaces? You can even feel extra good when purchasing your tickets, as a portion of the proceeds will go towards various local causes facilitated by the Pride Social Impact Fund.
