BIMM Students Appear at Other Voices

19 December, 2017

Now stretching along the Wild Atlantic Way from West Kerry North to Derry and more recently London & New York, Other Voices attracts an expanding array of artists from across the musical spectrum to perform at this intimate musical event which is broadcast worldwide online and as a television series.

Every December music fans and industry professionals embark on the pilgrimage to Dingle in Co. Kerry for the world renowned Other Voices festival.

One of Ireland’s most unique music events, the festival has welcomed both up and coming acts as well as well-known artists over the years.

Many talented, well-known acts have graced the Other Voices line up in the past with performances from Ellie Goulding, Amy Winehouse, Elbow, Imelda May and Hozier.

This year saw five BIMM Dublin acts – LAOISE, ELM, Columbia Mills, LE BOOM and Maria Kelly – join the ranks and perform to packed venues across the town of Dingle.

Each year at Other Voices a number of performances in St James’ Church are filmed which are later broadcast on RTE and around the world. Le Boom & Maria Kelly were among the acts filmed this year and will make their television debuts in 2018. First established in 2002, Other Voices is Ireland’s longest running music TV series.

A milestone for any musician, Other Voices is an important gig to get and well deserved for our hardworking students and alumni this year. We look forward to seeing what 2018 brings for each of them and hope it’s every bit as successful as 2017.
