BIMM partners with Barn On The Farm

11 April, 2019

Student artists will soon perform alongside some of the best new music talent around this July, as BIMM announces a brand new partnership with Barn On The Farm, 2019.

The music festival, which takes place on Gloucester’s Over Farm from July 4-7, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with its most incredible line-up yet.

Eight lucky student artists will feature on this year’s bill as part of BIMM’s collaboration with the festival, joining the likes of BRIT Award winner Sam Fender, Grace Carter, Maggie Rogers and Lewis Capaldi, who has currently spent six consecutive weeks at number one in the UK singles chart with his track “Someone You Loved”.

Acts appearing on this year’s bill are:

Barn On The Farm won Best Grassroots Festival at the UK Festival Awards in December, and Friday tickets for this year’s event were completely sold out before a single line-up announcement had been made; a clear indicator of just how popular the weekend is with its 1,500 annual visitors.

Previous line-ups for the festival have featured BIMM alumni such as James Bay, Tom Odell, Black HoneyTin Pigeons, Fickle Friends and The Academic. And this year, eight new BIMM artists plus a headline act will take to the Tin Barn on Friday July 5 – one of three different stages – to perform for brand new audiences on the first official day of the festival.

Michelle Humphreys, Head of Events and Artist Development at BIMM London was instrumental in helping the collaboration come to fruition, saying:

“It’s an absolute honour for BIMM to be partnering with Barn on the Farm festival for 2019! The collaboration provides a great platform for students to perform at a high calibre festival that champions up and coming artists. It’s really exciting to be able to witness the students’ progress from classroom to festival stage!”

Michelle is working closely with the festival’s founder Josh Sanger in the curation of the BIMM stage. He voiced his excitement on the new collaboration.

“This year we’re delighted to be partnering with BIMM to create a stage of fantastic artists who are currently, or have previously, studied at the college. This stage will take place in our Tin Barn on Friday 5th July and will be packed with talent, some of which will be performing at a festival for the very first time.

There is nothing more exciting for us to be giving BIMM’s students a place to shine and hopefully climb the ladder to headline the festival in years to come! 2019 marks the 10th year of Barn on the Farm and we are extremely pleased to have BIMM celebrating it with us.”

BIMM Brighton soul/pop artist Jack Howard, who will be performing on the Tin Barn stage during the festival, said: “I’m very excited to be playing at Barn On The Farm this year. It will be a great experience to see Sam Fender as he’s a huge inspiration for my music. I’m also really excited to see Alfie Neale play as well as debuting our new single “Sunlight”.’
