BIMM Partner with Firestone’s Road To The Main Stage

4 September, 2018

BIMM are pleased to announce their official partnership with Firestone’s ‘Road To The Main Stage’, 2018. The competition gives unsigned bands and musicians from every genre the chance to get noticed by influential industry figures and the music loving public, as they compete to win a prize package that’s bigger than ever before.

From a long list of artist entries, Firestone, its partners and a panel of industry experts will select six finalists and open up the competition to a public vote. The three bands that receive the most votes will go on to perform in front of a live audience and jury at an exclusive live event in London this November.

Partnering with BIMM, Orange Amplification and Professional Music Technology (PMT), the competition will offer artists the opportunity to win an incredible batch of prizes worth £25k, including the chance to play at a top UK music festival, as well as two more high profile live slots at Good Karma Club and the Orange Amplification Anniversary. Plus, exclusive use of a VW Transporter for a year, equipment upgrades and recording time at a renowned studio; all to help artists on their road to the main stage.

2017’s showdown saw a long-list of 300 artists whittled down to just six hopeful finalists, including BIMM Birmingham’s very own Indie Rock quartet, Sugarthief. And this years competition sees BIMM Birmingham Principal, Anthony Greaves returning to the industry panel for the second year running. Here’s what he had to say on BIMM’s official involvement in the competition.

We had the great pleasure of hosting the final of the competition in 2017, and I feel privileged to be asked to be on the panel again in 2018. The competition is a great way for up and coming artists to make themselves heard by the right people, which perfectly aligns with BIMM’s ethos of connecting our talented students with the music industry.”
