BIMM Dublin is pleased to have teamed up once again with Youth Work Ireland’s Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs) for another fantastic education hub at their all ages National Day event on Saturday May 11th, 2019.
The event – which takes place at Croke Park on Saturday May 11th – will see a host of talented young musicians perform across two stages throughout the day, including number 1 chart-toppers ‘The Academic‘ and Gold selling number one artists ‘The Riptide Movement’. Plus workshops from BIMM Institute Dublin with members of Villagers, James Vincent McMorrow and Heathers.
BIMM Dublin’s presence at the event will include an interactive stand within the bustling marketplace area, which will be hosted by Songwriting tutor and mentor Phil Christie and will feature performances, songwriting workshops and jam sessions with BIMM Dublin’s graduate house band.
The fun doesn’t stop there though! Also featuring on the day will be a live guitar clinic, scratch DJ workshop and official Ableton stand, all offering valuable tips and advice for those looking to learn skills in these fields.
Check out highlights from last year’s event here.
Also in attendance during the event will be Girls Rock Dublin, IMRO and RTÉ 2FM who will be broadcasting live from the event throughout the day. Plus Award winning Director Lochlainn McKenna will be teaming up with music producer Daithí to look at the inspiration, process and promotion behind a successful music video shoot.
“We are super excited to announce our education hub line-up for 2019 and to create a space for young people to get hands on advice, skills and knowledge about the creative and music industries by some of Ireland’s best acts.” said Irish Youth Music Awards Director, Barry Lennon.
Director of Music at RTÉ 2FM, Alan Swan said: “The Irish Youth Music Awards programme and National Day is a vital part of RTÉ 2FM’s mission to support young musicians, songwriters and producers by giving them an opportunity to develop their skills and meet industry professionals. We have started to see some acts that have been involved in the IYMAs programme to now be part of RTÉ 2FM’s content.”
Young people interested in pursuing a career in music, learning new music skills from professionals, or even just looking to catch live performances from some incredible live acts should sign up now!
