Brighton Festival is a time we look forward to every year. For a month and a half, the city opens itself up to a wealth of extraordinary experiences, including artists’ open houses, pop-up food events, avante garde street theatre and of course, lashings of live music – which is why BIMM Brighton is thrilled to announce its collaboration with prolific designer Morag Myerscough for the curation of her ‘Belonging Bandstand’.
‘Belonging’ will be Myerscough’s first ever mobile art installation: a bright, bold, touring bandstand programmed in collaboration with various communities across Sussex, inviting them to reflect on the theme of ‘belonging’ by making banners to adorn the stage whilst programming a diverse range of local performers to use it as a stage. The installation will make it’s way to Brighton for the Festival and BIMM Brighton is incredibly pleased to announce its sponsorship of the stage.
Saturday May 12th will see numerous BIMM performance students and alumni take to the stage including the likes of The Yellow Bellies, Marius Bear, Stranger Girl, Megan Lara Mae, Hayley Harland and The Villas.
The event is 100% free and will take place on Brighton beach, next to the the i360 from 12pm on the 12th of May. For more info, check out the official Brighton Festival website.
