BIMM Hamburg is part of the BIMM Group – the UK and Europe’s largest and leading contemporary music college.

We offer a selection of contemporary music degrees across a number of different disciplines, including guitar, bass, drums, vocals, songwritingmusic business and music production, and our high standard of educational provision has been commended by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) – the independent body entrusted with monitoring standards in Higher Education – in their Higher Education Review (HER).

BIMM Brighton was the first BIMM college to open (2001), followed by colleges in Bristol (2008), London (2010), Dublin (2011), Manchester (2013), Berlin (2015), Birmingham (2017) and Hamburg (2018).

All eight BIMM institutes collaborate in perfect harmony, but at the same time, each individual music college has its own unique, independent regional identity which we continue to nurture.

Hamburg is a city which mixes business with pleasure. A port known as a centre for commerce, it’s home to an assortment of world-renowned music businesses, creating an economically stable industry for our students to be a part of. But it’s not all stuffy shirts and ties! Our close connection to the German and international music scene means BIMM Hamburg students get direct access to the city’s most happening music venues, coolest record labels, most groundbreaking festivals, and best music brands on the planet.

BIMM Hamburg students attend lessons taught in English at our college in the creative St. Pauli district – a short walk from the city’s famous Reeperbahn. All courses are validated by the prestigious University of Sussex – a UK top 20 university* and one of the best 150 universities in the world** – which has also been ranked as having the third best graduate prospects of all UK universities***.

All BIMM Hamburg students have direct access to state-of-the-art professional facilities, with equipment and software delivered by the world’s leading musical instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us. Our college features top-of-the-range Mac suites with Ableton-sponsored equipment, backline-fitted rehearsal studios, and a recording studio which can be booked by BIMM students at a discounted rate, and you’ll be taught how to use it all by our expert tutors who are all very active in today’s global music scene.

The BIMM Hamburg building in St. Pauli is surrounded by music and music businesses, meaning you’ll be studying right at the musical heart of the city, with an instant connection to the local creative and music community and ample opportunities for work experience. There’s also plenty of fun to be had in the nearby streets, so whether you’re checking out a gig at Molotow Musikclub, browsing racks of vinyl on your lunchbreak, taking a musical pilgrimage to Beatles-Platz or simply having a coffee at the Hard Rock Café, you’ll never be far from beats and a melody.

As BIMM Hamburg student, you’ll also have the option of an international study exchange with one of our BIMM colleges in London, Berlin, Brighton, Manchester, Bristol or Birmingham.
