Tim is a highly experienced performer and educator. In addition to his BIMM roles, he’s also a workshop leader for a number of organisations including Magdala Opera, Oxford Philomusica, the Grand Union Orchestra and the Education Group.
He’s currently studying for a PhD at the Institute of Education, University of London, as well as working as an academic writer and education consultant. Tim is also a freelance trombone player and has played in many West End shows, including Book of Mormon, Legally Blonde, La Cage Aux Folles, Chicago and Wicked. He’s been the featured trombone player for seminal British ska band, The Specials, since their reunion in 2009, and he’s toured extensively with them worldwide, and well as working on live recordings, broadcasts and a live DVD. Additional work includes Prince Buster, Selecter, Toploader and The Kooks. As trombone player with the Heritage Orchestra, he’s toured and recorded with Tim Minchin, UNKLE, The Bays, and a range of other collaborations.
