James has been involved in music since the age of five when he began piano lessons, followed closely by clarinet and saxophone, and he spent hours as a kid playing around with four track recorders and cheap microphones. Over the years he’s studied at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, Berklee College of Music in Boston and the Royal Academy of Music in London.
James is now a producer/engineer and runs Knight Time Studios in London, where he’s worked with artists including The Kooks, Leona Lewis, The Saturdays, Ellie Goulding, Katy B, Cee Lo Green, Gary Barlow, Alison Moyet, Olly Murs, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams. James has engineered and performed on tracks for ‘X Factor’ in both the UK and US, has written theme tunes for ITV1’s ‘Sunday Scoop’ and ‘Sunday Side Up’, and has recorded music for advertising clients including Burger King and Peachy Loans. His film work has included ‘Love Actually’, ‘The Life and Death of Peter Sellers’ and ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day’.
