Nichola Hegarty is a qualified and highly sought after session singer and vocal teacher based in Dublin. She has achieved a B.A Honours Degree in Jazz Performance from Newpark, a Higher Diploma in Music Performance from B.C.F.E. and is currently studying her Masters in Entrepreneurship.
Nichola began her formal training with classical singing lessons in her teens, and from there went on to study and achieve her Diploma and Degree. She has an extremely wide vocal range and can sing various styles of music, leading to high demand for her talents as a session singer.
As well as composing her own original music, Nichola has performed in some of the most renowned venues and festivals in Ireland and England with well-known artists on the Irish music scene.
Her performance experience includes shows at Marlay Park to 40,000 people, 3Arena, INEC, Roundhouse Theatre, Apollo, BBC TV and The Limelight Theatre – all as a backing vocalist for Kodaline. Other appearances include RTE, Olympia, Vicar Street, Whelans, Academy, Electric Picnic, Body and Soul, Knockanstockan, Cork Jazz supporting Maceo Parker and Drogheda supporting Don Baker.
Nichola is an outstanding vocal teacher and coach. She teaches privately, specialising in vocal technique and most recently began lecturing in BIMM specialising in pre- production. Some of her students are members of Wyvern Lingo, Kodaline, Columbia Mills, Wounds, Lethal Dialect and Chewing on Tinfoil. She is making a name for herself as one of the top vocal teachers in Ireland and is consistently researching and updating herself to always be informed and to continue mastering her craft.
