Louis developed a passion for music at a young age, and was an active member of orchestras, choirs, bands and jazz ensembles throughout his teens.He received his BA in Music from Trinity College in 2012, where he majored in composition under Donnacha Dennehy and graduated with First-Class Honours. While studying at Trinity, he was the sole recipient of the Alpha One Foundation’s €1,000 Chopin Award for piano performance.

Since completing his degree, Louis has worked as an assistant, copyist and arranger for composer Bill Whelan, collaborating with musicians including the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Zoe Conway, James Galway, and many more. He’s also the founding member, songwriter and pianist with Irish band Nova Collective, whose history includes a trio of music videos featuring guest vocalist Hozier, as well as a performance at Áras an Uachtaráin in 2015 for Michael D. Higgins’s summer garden party.
