Tune In To Our Radio Four

5 December, 2014

The last couple of months have been chock-full of momentous events for a certain trio of BIMM’s alumni, and to confirm their ascendency to pop’s top table, all three are on BBC Radio 1’s playlist at once — along with yet another BIMM graduate!

James Bay’s ‘Hold Back The River’, George Ezra’s ‘Listen To The Man’, Tom Odell’s cover of John Lennon’s ‘Real Love’ all appear on the Radio 1 “B List” — and so does Oliver Heldens’ ‘Last All Night (Koala)’ which features vocals from BIMM graduate Kate Stewart.

That’s an incredible four BIMM alumni on the country’s most coveted playlist all at once! They’re rubbing shoulders with megastars like Arianna Grande, Coldplay, Labrinth and Sam Smith — an amazing achievement.

The playlisting is entirely deserved exposure for all four artists, and further confirms George, Tom and James’ status as three of the UK’s biggest and most respected solo artists.

Recent graduate James won the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award, George has just scored a number one album, and Tom landed the coveted job of providing the soundtrack to the John Lewis Christmas TV advert.

Appearing on the “B List” means that each song is played to millions of listeners many times a day on the UK’s biggest pop station, taking each artist’s vocal talent and heartfelt songwriting to a new set of fans.

Everyone at BIMM is incredibly proud of each of our alumni’s achievements, but seeing four all at once on such a high-profile playlist has taken our pride to a whole new level.

Congratulations James, Kate, George and Tom from everybody at BIMM! Wherever will we see you next?
