BIMM Brighton band, Evertim seized an opportunity at a recent Masterclass, which resulted in their music being played on BBC Radio 1!
Radio 1 rock show presenter, Daniel P Carter delivered a fantastic session – relaying numerous rock n rock anecdotes, as well as offering plenty of helpful of advice to the students.
Following the masterclass and Q&A, Daniel hung around to chat to some of the students, including Georgia and Ben from Brighton band, Evertim. They had just released a DIY split EP with their friends, Fruitcake – who they’ve also been gigging with – and handed a copy over to Daniel, as Georgia explained:
“Ben and I got talking to Daniel about our plans for the year and gave him a copy of our EP ‘Learn to Swim’. We didn’t really think much of it, but he tweeted us the morning of the show telling us he was going to be playing our track ‘Knots’ from it!”
Ahead of playing the track on air, Daniel described BIMM as “an amazing music school”. He’s already been a Masterclass guest at both Bristol and Brighton, to date, and will hopefully be coming to BIMM Manchester in the near future.
Evertim themselves have a busy schedule ahead with GODDAMNFEST coming up on Saturday 20 May at the Alternative Escape in Brighton, as well as playing the Garage in London the following day on Sunday 21. They are also headlining Burned-Out Festival in Dorset on Saturday 1 July.
Evertim are planning on recording their EP next month with Neil Kennedy, who has produced Milk Teeth, Creeper, Departures, Trash Boat and Boston Manor – some of the most important UK pop punk/emo bands right now!
It looks like a great summer ahead for Evertim!
