BIMM to Sponsor UMA’s 2018

14 December, 2017

BIMM is pleased to announce that it will be teaming up with the Unsigned Music Awards 2018 as the official sponsor of the “Best Record” award. The UMA’s ceremony will be held at the 4,500 capacity Brighton Centre and will also serve to officially open the Great Escape Festival on May 16.

Aside from demonstrating our continued support for unsigned artists, BIMM’s partnership with the UMA’s will also provide a wide range of work experience and industry placement opportunities for its students.

There will also be monthly showcases for featured performers, plus a number of other live events held in the run up to the main event, all of which will provide yet more experience opportunities for the right candidates.

Roles to be filled include social media assistants, runners, sound engineer and camera operator assistants, press ushers, guest/artist liaison and writers.

Our Event Management and Performance students aren’t the only ones who’ll benefit from the exclusive education sponsorship either. UMA Music are also accepting applications from BIMM students interested in Music Journalism to join their team of contributors to the new music site. If you’re a current student and are interested in participating, see umamusic.com.

Simon O’Kelly, UMA Music CEO,  said of the partnership;

“BIMM provides a valuable journey and route into the music industry, not only for musicians and artists, but also for those wanting to pursue careers in events, production and journalism. I have always been impressed by the high level of talent and skills that BIMM helps to develop, and I am pleased to be able to offer real-world experience to the professionals of the future in order to experience an event of this scale, guided by some of the best live professionals in the industry. As a BIMM Alumni, I am also pleased to see them continue to support the unsigned music scene that so many of their students – myself once included – belong to.”

Nicky Kingsbury-Williams, Careers and Industry Coordinator at BIMM says:

“We look forward to our continued partnership with the Unsigned Music Awards and we are excited to be working with them at our largest local venue, the Brighton Centre. This will give our students the integral experience that will help them move forward with their burgeoning careers in the music industry.

It makes perfect sense that an Awards ceremony celebrating up and coming young artists should be run by the future of the music industry.”

Any BIMM students or alumni looking to attend the event will be pleased to hear that they’ll benefit from a huge 50% discount on tickets with a special discount code. Keep an eye on your student inbox for more details.
