BIMM AT GLASTONBURY 2017

The headliners have been announced, the line-up is out, the gates have opened and the Glastonbury Festival 2017 has officially begun!

As always, BIMM will be out in full force at this year’s Worthy Farm bash with a huge line-up of new and exciting bands from across our network of colleges. We’ll be putting on an amazing show when our BIMM students takeover the Croissant Neuf bandstand in Glastonbury’s Green Fields.

From Indie to Folk via Punk, we’ve cherry picked the freshest talent from across our BIMM centres for another truly memorable weekend of live music. This year’s BIMM showcase will see highlight performances from the likes of raucous garage rockers Atlas Wynd (BIMM Brighton) and up and coming Hip Hop visionaries Stay Hungry (BIMM Bristol).

Also joining them will be BIMM Manchester’s answer to Billy Bragg in punk singer-songwriter Nish Goyal, who recently supported founding Sex Pistol member Glen Matlock on tour at Manchester’s Deaf Institute.

Completing our line-up of must-see unsigned artists and newcomers is Tom Forbes, Chloe Leigh, Rye Milligan, Carl J North, Amelia Caesar and Edward Sansom. All of whom will be looking to impress and make this year’s Glastonbury showcase our best yet.

And it’s not just our performance students who are taking advantage of this unique opportunity as the entire backline staff is made up of students from our Events Management, Music Business, Music Production and Music Journalism degree courses.

Heading to Glastonbury this year? We’ll be at the Croissant Neuf bandstand from Wednesday right through until Sunday so be sure to grab a cider and some delicious street food before finding a prime spot by the stage. Get down early to get a good view and plenty of space to dance.

Can’t wait until next month? We recently caught up with Michael Eavis during his recent visit to BIMM Dublin. The festival’s head honcho spoke at length about Glastonbury’s future and shared a few secrets about running the world’s biggest and best festival – you can read the full interview here.

In the meantime, check out the full line-up below or listen to our playlist to get yourself acquainted with all this year’s BIMM groups and artists. See you there!
