HOW TO APPLY TO BIMM Brighton

Everything you need to know

Below you can find all the information you need about applying for a course at BIMM Brighton.

Higher Education Courses

All Higher Education students who wish to join BIMM will need to submit an application through UCAS using the appropriate UCAS Code which can be found on the course or Fees and Scholarship pages of this website or in a copy of the BIMM Brighton Prospectus.

Once your application has been received we’ll either invite you in for an audition and assessment or, if you clearly meet the entry criteria for the course you have selected, we’ll offer you a place.

When applying for a BIMM Brighton course through UCAS you’ll need to enter our Institution Code – B39, and the Brighton Campus Code – N.

Performance-Based Courses: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals and Songwriting
If you’re applying to one of our performance-based courses and are a UK-based student, we’ll expect you to attend BIMM for an audition and assessment. If you wish to visit us and be assessed before you submit your UCAS application, this can be arranged by either contacting our Admissions Team directly on 01273 626 666, emailing admissions@bimm.co.uk or filling in the online application form.

Music Business, Music Journalism and Event Management Courses
For courses which don’t involve a practical performance element we’ll generally be able to make you an offer based on your UCAS application. We’ll take into consideration your existing or expected qualifications and the strength of your personal statement and reference.

Music Production Courses
For all Music Production courses you should also apply through UCAS. You’ll be required to submit a digital portfolio, followed by an interview. Further information on production assessment guidelines can be found here.

Personal Statement
A personal statement must be included with your UCAS application. There’s a video guide to writing a personal statement on the UCAS website. Using a maximum of 4,000 characters, please write your statement as a Word document so that you can check your spelling and grammar and then simply copy and paste it into the Personal Statement section on your UCAS application. Please use paragraphs in your statement as this makes it clearer to read, and we advise that you keep a copy for future reference.

Our Admissions Team is available to help with any queries you may have about applying to BIMM.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by calling 01273 626 666, emailing admissions@bimm.co.uk or filling in the ‘Apply Today’ website form.

We’ve put together some handy guides to help you with your application, view BIMM’s UCAS Application Guides here.
