Fees and Finance

Everything you need to know

We’re dedicated to giving our students the best value music education possible – which means accessing our globally successful first-rate tutors in a dedicated location at the epicentre of the local music industry…not to mention the option of spending a year studying at another BIMM College in the UK or Berlin.

Such cutting-edge facilities can be expensive, but we make sure all BIMM courses are great value for money and offer qualifying students a variety of financial support initiatives like bursaries and scholarships – representing a practical and affordable investment for your future career in the music industry.

At BIMM we’re determined to offer our students exceptionally good value for money. All BIMM three-year undergraduate degree courses are priced at £7,250 per year for UK and EU students, £2,000 less than many UK universities.

They’re also fully accredited so, if eligible, you can apply to the Student Loans Company for a £6,165* tuition fee loan. The remaining £1,085 of Higher Education course fees would need to be paid by the student before 15th August 2018.

Students from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales should select the appropriate link for finance:

Northern Ireland: studentfinanceni.co.uk

Scotland: saas.gov.uk

EU students may be able to get a student loan to cover tuition costs. If you’re an EU student, information on how to apply can be found at: direct.gov.uk/studentfinance (please select ’students from other EU countries’).

If you are an EU student applying to our UK colleges, see our update on Brexit.

EMI MUSIC SOUND FOUNDATION BURSARY

(Available to current Brighton, Bristol, Manchester and London students only)

EMI Music Sound Foundation is an independent music education charity established in 1997 to celebrate the Centenary of EMI Records and to improve young peoples’ access to music education in the UK. Its patrons include Sir Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Yoko Ono and Diana Ross. Naturally, it’s a huge honour for BIMM to be chosen to receive bursary funding as part of an elite band of music education centres, which also includes The Birmingham Conservatoire and The Royal Academy of Music.

In 2015, EMI Music Sound Foundation offered an annual bursary of £10,000, this was made available to current BIMM students across BIMM colleges in the UK. The bursary amount will be split between 8-10 students who will be continuing their studies at BIMM in 2017/18.

The bursary can be put towards your course fees, or you can receive the money directly to help with your living costs while studying (the funds will be paid by the end of your first term of study).

If you’d like further information regarding the bursary, please visit: www.emimusicsoundfoundation.com

The criteria in order to be considered are as follows. You must:
• Be a current BIMM student
• Be aged between 19 and 24 on the 31st August 2018
• Be a UK national
• Be in financial hardship
• Have good studentship

It’s important that your application form for this bursary is completed thoroughly, so if you require assistance with your submission, please feel free to get in touch.
