Fees and Finance

Everything you need to know

We know being a student can be expensive, so we make sure all BIMM London courses are great value for money. And for those who need financial support along the way, we offer a series of Scholarships and Bursaries too.

As you’ll no doubt know, many UK universities are charging undergraduates fees of up to £9,000 per year. But as BIMM is the UK’s most successful music education provider, we’re uniquely positioned to offer outstanding quality and value to our students.

Which means that all our undergraduate three year degree courses are priced at £6,300 per annum for UK and EU students, and since all BIMM courses are formally validated and fully accredited, students may apply to the Student Loan Company (SLC) to cover £6,000 of the tuition fees payable. The remaining £300 would need to be paid by the student before 15th August 2016. But please be aware that student funding for courses is not available to everyone, so it’s worth checking if you’re eligible before applying for your course.

Students from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales should select the appropriate link for finance:

Northern Ireland: studentfinanceni.co.uk

Scotland: saas.gov.uk

Wales: studentfinancewales.co.uk

EU students may be able to get a student loan to cover tuition costs, however the BIMM London BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance course may only involve a part-covering of fees. If you’re an EU student, information on how to apply can be found at: direct.gov.uk/studentfinance (please select ’students from other EU countries’).

EMI MUSIC SOUND FOUNDATION BURSARY

(Available to current students only)

EMI Music Sound Foundation is an independent music education charity established in 1997 to celebrate the Centenary of EMI Records and to improve young peoples’ access to music education in the UK. Its patrons include Sir Paul McCartney, Sir George Martin, Tina Turner, Yoko Ono and Diana Ross. Naturally, it’s a huge honour for BIMM to be chosen to receive bursary funding as part of an elite band of music education centres, which also includes The Birmingham Conservatoire and The Royal Academy of Music.

In 2015, EMI Music Sound Foundation offered an annual bursary of £10,000, this was made available to current BIMM students across all BIMM colleges in the UK. The value of this bursary for 2016/17 students is awaiting confirmation.

The bursary can be put towards your course fees, or you can receive the money directly to help with your living costs while studying (the funds will be paid by the end of your first term of study).

If you’d like further information regarding the bursary, please visit: www.emimusicsoundfoundation.com

The criteria in order to be considered are as follows. You must:
• Be a current BIMM student
• Be aged between 19 and 24 on the 31st August 2016
• Be a UK national
• Be in financial hardship
• Have good studentship

It’s important that your application form for this bursary is completed thoroughly, so if you require assistance with your submission, please feel free to get in touch.

Please note that 2016/17 applications will open in April 2016.
