Ollie Cole
Head of Live Performance Workshop & Songwriting Tutor
Ollie Cole is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who began playing and writing at the age of six. Having had some success with his first band "Swampshack", he formed the 3 piece rock band "Turn". Ollie was Turn’s main guitarist, songwriter and singer and they soon signed to Infectious Records in London, which was home to Muse, Ash and Garbage amongst others. Turn enjoyed great success and popularity, playing sell out gigs in Vicar Street and a packed to the gills standout performance at the Oxegen festival in 2005. They released 3 Irish top ten albums and were nominated for Ireland’s coveted "Choice Music Award” in 2005. Ollie left the band in 2006 to begin work on his first solo album. "We albatri" was recorded in Germany and released in 2010. The Irish Times gave the album 5 out of 5 and the album of the month. Ollie signed with EMI and Big Life Publishing in 2009 in order to further develop his career both as a solo artists and songwriter.
