Cormac studied piano and music theory in the College of Music from the age of 7, going on to earn a degree in Musicology from UCD. He has taught both keyboards and theory for the last 10 years when not touring. Cormac has performed and recorded with many talented artists including Cathy Davey, One Day International, Ollie Cole, Gavin Glass, Rhob Cunningham and Villagers, composing and arranging both the strings and brass scores for the no. 1, platinum selling album Becoming a Jackal, which earned a nomination for The Mercury Music Prize, Choice Music Prize, Mojo Award and winning the Ivor Novello Award, among other accolades. With Villagers, Cormac has been touring for the last two years playing support to Elbow, Neil Young, Grizzly Bear, Midlake, John Grant, The National, and many more.
