CAO Offers

CAO points for 2012 entry are 435. This is an increase of 130 points on last year’s entry points and is directly related to the huge level of applicants for this programme and the standard which those applicants achieved in both their Leaving Certificate (or equivalent qualification) and their entry audition.  Applicants were allotted a certain number of points from their audition which for the purposes of points for entry onto DT506 only, can be added to the points achieved in their Leaving Certificate (or equivalent qualification). The maximum amount of points achievable at audition was 100.

 We understand that some applicants will be disappointed and we empathise with them. If you passed the standard at audition you should be extremely proud of your musical skill and ability. If you did not gain enough points from your Leaving Certificate or equivalent this year, you could apply for the BIMM Dublin CPD Diploma in Professional Musicianship (Performance or Songwriting). This course covers 3 of the modules on the degree programme and can be used as an equivalent to the Leaving Certificate for the purpose of gaining entry onto the degree programme in the future (next year for example). Places on this programme will be offered on the basis of the standard which you have already presented at audition and the demand for the course - again the process is competitive. Places on this course will be offered before the 31^st of August 2012. If you wish to apply you must do so before 5pm on Wednesday 22nd August. As there is a large number of applicants for this course late applications cannot be considered.
