Pete Zeldman - Rhythm Masterclass - 27th April '12

'Possibly the most technically advanced drummer in the world...' Rhythm Magazine, Issue 105.

Pete is the master of 4-way independence. He has been known to solo in 4 different time signatures simultaneously. During this masterclass at BIMM Bristol, Pete covered aspects of the 16th note alphabet and time signature variations, whilst demonstrating what makes him one of the most technically advanced and accomplished drummers in the world!

James Hester (Head of Drums at BIMM Bristol and pictured with Pete below) commented on the masterclass. 'Uber-Metric-Mind Pete Zeldman visited BIMM Bristol and blew the minds of everyone in the masterclass! The Pittsburg native opened with a solo on a basic five piece kit, demonstrating some incredible meter and co-ordination mastery, some of which he went on to explain - the ideas of groupings, subdivisions and applications as polyrhythms, cross rhythms and metric modulations was enlightening, inspiring and at times like listening to a sonic illusionist. The word 'unique' is an all too common phrase these days, those in attendance were left in no doubt what the word really means'.
