NEW PRS Scholarship Announced
BIMM are delighted to announce the NEW PRS for Music Springboard Scholarships for Songwriting and Music Business.
PRS for Music are offering five scholarships to students who wish to study on one of BIMM’s new Springboard Diplomas in Brighton. The scholarships are for one year Artist Development courses in Songwriting, or for the 1 year Entrepreneurs Diploma in Music Business.
The aptly named ‘PRS for Music Springboard Scholarships’ are designed to improve employment opportunities within the music industry and to equip students with the skills and knowledge to progress with their career goals
The purpose of these scholarships is to ensure equality of opportunity for young people, to raise aspirations and educational attainment and improve employment prospects within the music industry.
Head of Songwriting Ian Sillett who has performed with Sir Paul McCartney, Mark Knopfler and Sugababes commented “These fantastic songwriting diploma courses at BIMM engage the student with every nuance a budding songwriter and composer could ever ask for , delivered by the very best in the business” and Mark Flannery from the songwriting team who has worked with Def Leppard, U2, Depeche Mode, Boy George, Yes, Will Smith and Black Sabbath adds “BIMM is truly an inspirational and supportive place to be, I wished it had been around when I started my career”.
The Entrepreneur’s Diploma in Music Business covers a range of modules including Music Industry Studies, Marketing and Promotion, Event Management and Personal Career Development. Graduates from this course are now working in production for Later...with Jools Holland, writing for Rocksound Magazine, working with music management companies, promotions companies and live agents.
