		Dave Grohl - Exclusive Dave Grohl, lead singer of the Foo Fighters and rock legend, recently took time out from his recent trip to the UK at the NME Awards to record an exclusive video message for all of our BIMM Musicians! Dave Grohl is best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the Foo Fighters, the former drummer of Nirvana and drummer for Them Crooked Vultures. Over the course of the Foo Fighters career, three albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six have been nominated for Grammys! 		BIMM What’s Inside Your Head? Album Vol 4’ out now The new BIMM album ‘What’s Inside Your Head? Vol 4’ is out now and is available on CD (from BIMM reception) and download (iTunes). The album features original songs from up and coming BIMM artists across BIMM Brighton and BIMM Bristol. The songs were selected by a music industry panel from hundreds of musicians demos whhich were submitted at BIMM. To celebrate the release of the album BIMM held a sold out FREE gig at the Pav Tav as part of the Alternative Great Escape on Friday 13th May. All proceeds from the gig go to Nordoff Robbins, a music therapy charity.

		BIMM work placements within the Music Industry Robbie Williams management ie: music have partnered with BIMM to offer two long internships with BIMM musicians and graduates. Congratulations to Andrej Presern and Thomas Beck who will working on the Robbie Williams website and the new Jimmy Page website. BIMM musicians Liam Lidbetter and Izzy Phillips have been selected to work with Some Friendly PR who represent Ladyhawke and Badly Drawn Boy. BIMM musicians Simon Buckley is working as a tour production manager for Cato Music -the UKs biggest tour production company. BIMM has it’s own Work Based Learning Department which has been set up to help secure BIMM students job opportunties within the industry. 		BIMM band Ice Black Birds to perform at South By Southwest in Texas Hotly tipped BIMM Brighton band Ice Black Birds performed at music industry festivalSouth By South West, in Texas, an annual music,film and arts festival. At night the festival showcases hundreds of bands and musicians from around the world. The Ice Black Birds have released two singles to date ’As Bird’s We’d Be Fine’ and ’Ears To The Ground’. 		Tribute to Amy Winehouse To Amy, Raye, Darcus and all the boys in the band from us all at BIMM Brighton, Bristol, Dublin and London. We love you all and can’t believe this has happened to BIMM’s favourite singer in the world. Amy’s music will be in our curriculum for many generations to come, and that is our tribute to a phenomenal songwriter and the greatest British singer since Dusty. Kevin, Sarah and Bruce

BIMM Dublin already has the backing of Sir Bob Geldof, who says “I am aware of BIMM’s track record as the leading provider of modern music training in the UK, and the success of their graduates and their employment in all areas of the music industry, plus many hit record successes. It is very encouraging that in these times, BIMM are ready to make the necessary investment into top level facilities, create employment and offer formal teacher training to experienced Irish musicians.” What are you waiting for?...

		BIMM musicians featured in Music Week (Jan 11) BIMM Bristol musician Steve Sparrow is featured with his band Morning Parade in Music Week. The band who are signed to Parlophone Records have supported Ash, Glasvegas, Florence + The Machine and Tinchy Stryder, are tipped as Ones to Watch for 2011! This is great news as Music Week is the industry’s music bible. The band were previously featured in NME and Italian Vogue. Morning Parade kicked off the New Year with E4’s The Skins tour and HMV’s Next Big Thing. BIMM Brighton band Electrixcity are performing at Music Week’s exciting new industry night ‘Breakout’ in London. The band have been selected as one of the four acts to perform to an invited music industry audience. An interview with Music Week magazine will follow shortly. Great news!!

		Successful Internal BIMM Musician Auditions with the Music Industry (Dec 10) BIMM have an unrivalled relationship with the UK music industry and regularly set up auditions for BIMM musicians and singers with record labels and management companies each term via the Events & Guests Department at the college. Congratulations to our musicians who were successful in their auditions through BIMM. James Watts (bass player) is now in a band called Ramona, signed to Columbia Records (Sony Music UK) and managed by Texas’s Sharleen Spiteri. Dave Delgado and Dan Grace are playing in Tiffany Page’s band, signed to Mercury Records (Universal). They have recently toured with the Noisettes and Hole! Moez Khan recently played with Eliza Doolittle as her drummer. Other BIMM recent success stories include Morning Parade have just signed a record deal with Parlophone Records (Coldplay, Lily Allen) featuring BIMM vocalist Steve Sparrow and had an exclusive play of their new single on Radio 1 and Ben Thompson - drummer for Two Door Cinema Club.

		BIMM win Creative Industries Award at the Sussex Business Awards ! (DEC 10) BIMM won an award at this year’s Sussex Business Awards! BIMM Brighton were nominated for two awards and won The Creative Industries Award which was collected by BIMM’s Principal Vaseema Hamilton and BIMM Founding Director Sarah Clayman (pictured). The ceremony took place at The Grand Hotel in Brighton. The Creative Industries award, sponsored by Wired Sussex, is in recognition of a creative business that makes a key contribution to the competitiveness of the region and UK plc as part of global creative business. BIMM Principal Vaseema Hamilton said,“Winning the Creative Industries award is a fantastic early 10th Birthday gift for the BIMM team who have worked so hard to make our magical mix of rock ’n’ roll and education an outstanding experience for all our students. It’s a perfect time to gain this recognition for our unique model of education as we move on beyond Brighton and Bristol to develop our new Centre Tech Music Schools in London and a brand new college in Dublin."

		James Bay co-writing with EMI Music Publishing Songwriters BIMM musician James Bay recently did a couple of co-writing sessions with EMI Music Publishing songwriters Jamie Norton and Ben Mark. Jamie and Ben whose credits include Take That, McFly and West Life, are working with James on various songwriting ideas and career aspects. It gave James some new ideas and fresh perspectives, as well as some great advice. In response to his co-writing James said "Jamie and Ben are great guys and very talented; doing this co-writing session was really inspiring. I’ve come away with some interesting new ideas about how to take my music further."
