Saving Aimee featured in Kerrang! (Oct 08)
BIMM musicians Satoshi Ishida and James Larner have been recently featured in Kerrang! magazine. Their band Saving Aimee has been likened to “Blink 182 and New Found Glory with a loving dash of 80’s rock Van Halen and Skid Row”! The band is currently on a UK tour supporting bands such as Enter Shikari, Simple Plan and Hot Leg and needless to say has sold out their headline shows. In the past the band has shared the stage alongside The Ting Tings, Fightstar, Kill Hannah, McFly and Elliot Minor. With a debut album on the way, produced by Justin Hawkins (The Darkness),the single “Small Talk” aired on major radio channels alongside music channels (Chart Show TV, The Box, Scuzz and NME TV) and performances at major award ceremonies (2008 NME Award Show and 2007 Kerrang! Awards) this band are definitely one to watch - and they’re not even signed yet!!

Induction week rock out! (Sept 08)
This year’s induction week was bursting with top guests and bands which were held at various venues across the city. To begin with legendary bassist Nate Watts popped in for a guest performance at the Concorde 2 and a masterclass at BIMM West which sent the musicians crazy! On Wednesday UK rock band Keane came along for a Q&A at the Theatre Royal alongside Darcus Beese (President of Island Records) and Ged Doherty (CEO/Chairman of Sony Records). BIMM bands Way Tangent, Mascara, Riot Riot, Catapult, Francesca Young, Floors and Walls, Ben Poole Band and Arty Karate all performed cracking sets too. Finally we had special guest appearances from past students such as Elliot Andrews (Kate Nash/The Maccabees), Tour Manager Duncan Ladkin (The Xcerts, Ghost of a Thousand, Paul Steel) and Stephen Carter (Xenomania). This gave our musicians a real taster of what to expect and how to maximise their time here at BIMM.

| The release of The Disciples of Shred (in the search for the unknowable scale of truth – Acts 1 to 4) is due to be released on Monday 11th August. The EP will be sold as a download only on iTunes. The track is just over 10 minutes long and will be released via South Coast Sounds. It will feature a variety of musicians to showcase the talents of current and past BIMM guitarists. All guitars were played by our musicians with the exception of the opening solo by the awesome Pat “the shred” Heath.
