		BIMM Summer Schools booking now for August ! (Aug 10) BIMM’s Total Guitar Summer School and Metal Hammer Summer Schools are now booking for August 2010. The summer schools are available for guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards and drums. The summer schools will give you the opportunity to train with top UK industry professionals. 		BIMM Open Days booking now for September 2010 BIMM have confirmed the new open days for 2010. BIMM Brighton open day will take place on Wednesday the 1st of September at 12pm and Bristol on Saturday 11th September at 12pm. Come along and talk to BIMM staff, tutors and students and be part of presentations and workshops held in our fantastic facilities. Please call admissions on 0844 2 646 666 to book your space now! 		End of Term Gigs - December shows at the Komedia and Concorde 2 (December ’10) Make sure you put our term 1 End of Term gig dates in your diary! At BIMM Brighton we have 3 events happening with one at the popular arts venue Komedia (Thursday 2nd December – doors: 7:30pm show: 8pm) and 2 at the rock reputable live music venue Concorde 2 (Thursday 9th December and Friday 10th December) Doors: 7pm. Show: 7:30pm. Tickets are available on the door for £4 or you can buy a ‘Live for a 5’ pass (£5 laminate which gets you into any 5 BIMM gigs). All shows are available to members of the public. 		The Great Escape Festival - BIMM album launch - Friday 14th May (May 10) To celebrate the release of the new BIMM album What’s Inside Your Head? Vol. 3, BIMM held an exclusive album launch at this year’s Great Escape Festival on Friday the 14th of May at the Pav Tav in Brighton. The event which is part of the Alternative Great Escape featured 6 live acts performing their tracks from the album. All proceeds from the album sales will go to the Nordoff Robbins Charity. The album features BIMM musicians from both Brighton and Bristol Institute of Modern Music.

		Live and Lyrical - Term 1 show at the Komedia (November ’10) Our first singer songwriter showcase of the year, Live and Lyrical, is set for Tuesday 16th November 2010 at the Komedia (downstairs). The event is a great chance to see some of our new and upcoming musicians perform in Brighton’s most popular live entertainment complex. Doors: 7:30pm Show: 8pm Tickets: £4 on the door or buy ‘Live for a 5’ laminate - £5 for any 5 BIMM gigs throughout the year! This show is open to the general public. See you there!

		Night of Vocals with Amy Winehouse’s band (Nov 09) BIMM Brighton welcomed guests and musicians alike into the Komedia for a fantastic ‘Night of Vocals’. Compered by BIMM Director Kevin Nixon and tutor Jason Knight, the evening was host to Amy Winehouse’s live band. BIMM vocalists had the opportunity to play an amazing set of soul classics and Amy Winehouse tracks. The band, featuring Dale Davis (bass), Hawi Gondwe (guitar), Sam Beste (keyboards), Troy Miller (drums) and backing vocalists Ade Omotayo and Zalon Thompson spoke about their careers and gave the audience an insight into what it is like to work for one of the most famous vocalists in the world! This was a truly memorable and stunning evening and many thanks to the band for taking the time out to visit us.

		End of Term Gigs (June 09) The very last End of Term gigs have come round quick and its your last chance to see our graduating musicians in action. Come and see the freshest talent coming out of BIMM with over 25 performances each night. Whether you are into acoustic, pop, indie, metal or folk these shows are going rock. Dates are Wednesday 17th June (Komedia - 44 – 47 Gardener, North Laine, Brighton) Doors: 7:30pm Show: 8pm, Thursday 25th June and Friday 26th June (Concorde 2 - 2 Madeira Drive, Brighton). Doors for both Concorde shows: 7pm show starts: 8pm. Tickets are £4 on the door or you can buy a live for a five pass (£5 pass which gets you into any three BIMM gigs this term).

		Live and Lyrical (June 09) BIMM Brighton’s Live and Lyrical event is set for Tuesday 2nd June. Our termly event focuses on some of BIMM’s finest singer songwriters and is a great evening out. With over 25 performances on the night each being a different artist this show really is a stomping ground for A&R representatives. Its promising to be the best yet . . . 		End of Term gigs (March 09) Stop Press . . . BIMM Brighton’s End of Term gigs are happening on Wednesday 11th March (acoustic set) at the Komedia (upstairs), Thursday 19th March and Friday 20th March at the Concorde 2. All three gigs showcase around 30 bands in one evening and all playing one song each. It’s a great chance to catch up on what’s going on at BIMM. All shows cost £4 on the door or you can buy a “Live for a Five” pass which gets you into any three BIMM gigs this term for £5. All Doors: 7:30pm Show: 8pm.
