Bimm MUSIC SCHOOL FACILITIES
BIMM are commited to continual investment in courses,
tutors and facilities. We have recently converted a substantial grade 2 listed building on Brunswick Street West, just a few hundred feet away from our BIMM West site, in Central Brighton, which opened for the new term starting October 2009. We have a number of different facilities, including our main campus (BIMM WEST), Metway Studio
and gig venues including Concorde 2.
BIMM EAST
Situated in the legendary Rock Place in Brighton,
BIMM East has an atmosphere all of it's own. This is the original
building, purposely converted in 2001 into an 800
square-foot performance / lecture studio, 1 soundproofed drum kitted room. Apple Mac suite (with protools 8 LE software and internet connectivity) and an ‘overdubs’ recording room.
Each room is kitted out with masses of pro backline including:
Mesa, Boogie, Cornford, Marshall, Vox, Fender, Ampeg, Peavey, Hiwatt, Orange, Yamaha +
Roland.
The building and equipment was upgraded in the Summer of 2009 to meet the needs of our ever expanding drums department and provide a working space for our new BA Songwriting module:
BIMM East now comprises of 3 teaching spaces, a ground floor live room, the main first floor teaching room has x20 apple mac (20” IMAC machines with protools 8 LE software and internet connectivity) installed for the BA songwriting module (the small room on the 1st floor has been converted into an ‘overdubs’ recording room for the mac room), and a drum room.
The drum room situated on the second floor has been extended, it contains x20 Roland TD12 v-drum kits and a DW Collectors Series maple shell acoustic kit with DW hard ware and Zildjian cymbals.

BIMM WEST
A 9000 square-foot building in Hove 's Brunswick Street West. The facilities include 1 drum kitted room, a 60' live performance room, 2 mirrored vocal rooms, 2 guitar rooms with choice amp heads, a bass room also with Ampeg etc, a songwriting room and a student common room. All rooms are kitted out with the best professional gear from manufacturers around the world and feature vintage backline equipment.

BIMM HOUSE
BIMM House is a converted grade II listed building, formerly the Hove Town Hall and is situated just a stones throw away from BIMM West on the Brighton/Hove border. The 6,000 sq ft building is spread over 4 floors and contains 2 x 100 capacity live performance spaces, a resource room, 2 large multi purpose rooms and 2 band tutorial rooms. Both live rooms have gigging standard PA systems, lighting rigs and stages – kitted out with a top level, new and vintage backline. The resource room offers workstations for project work and study whilst the 2 large multi purpose rooms are kitted out with a variety of pro quality equipment.
REHEARSAL + STUDIO FACILITIES
BIMM is able to recommend several cool and
reasonably priced places to rehearse and record around Brighton.
CONCORDE

BIMM has a very special relationship
with one of the most important live music venues in
the country: Concorde 2. For 2 days a week
some BIMM musicians and Live Sound students use the same stage and the same amazing 40,000 watt PA system as the established artists who play the venue every week.
The venue is also used for seven gigs
throughout the BIMM year. These gigs are invariably
sold out and students get the chance to play in front
of hundreds of people with pro sound, lights and backline.

METWAY
STUDIOS
BIMM uses the Leveller's Metway
Studios for various studio activities including
demos, recording the BIMM album,
classes + masterclasses. It's a cool
retro studio with several recording formats available,
from Protools to two-inch analogue tape.
There's plenty of space in the large drum room
and massive control room to work with
a class, and what's more, the studio has been responsible
for putting out several hit albums from the likes of
the Levellers and Electric Soft Parade.

CITY COLLEGE
BRIGHTON & HOVE
City College Brighton & Hove is our education partner for level 5 qualifications. BIMM Professional Diploma students are also enrolled as students of City College and are entitled to access the excellent IT, library and cafeteria facilities there. BIMM is accountable to City College for our working practices and academic standards on level 5 courses, and our Professional Diploma students have contact with representatives from CCBH for feedback on these issues.

CENTRAL SUSSEX COLLEGE
Central Sussex College (previously Haywards Heath College which has now merged with Crawley College) are our partners
for the level 3 Diploma qualification. The college is
on a green leafy campus, five minutes from Haywards
Heath station on the London-Brighton line.
