Keyboard Courses
"This is a hand's on, in your face, Rock n Roll Keyboard course. It's a must for anyone who is serious about a career in this profession." - Paul Englishby (Film and Theatre Composer) Ian Sillett, BIMM Keyboards tutor, said: "There are exciting times ahead at BIMM for individuals who are serious about a career in music. This Keyboard course is for 'real' organic players, strictly no computers or music IT! This is for live musicians and features real piano, organ, Hammond and analogue synths - back to the old-school!"
The course content features intensive technical development and analysis of the keyboard greats from Stevie Winwood to Jon Lord, plus keyboard-powered bands such as The Charlatans, Coldplay and Pink Floyd. Students will also be expected to perform in many live band performance situations with other musicians, whilst also taking theory, sight reading and business studies classes, ensuring players gain a firm grounding as professionals in the music industry. Also just added - Electronic Composition. This brand new addition to the keyboard course looks at Electronica, from Kraftwerk to Air, Depeche Mode to Hot Chip. You will learn how sounds were created, analyse the compositional techniques and use these ideas to write your own music. This module is the perfect way to hone your part writing for your original music, creating interesting sounds and melodies for your live playing.
