How To Apply
Higher Education Courses
All Higher Education students who wish to join BIMM will need to submit an application through UCAS using the appropriate UCAS Code, these can be found on the course pages or in the fees and scholarships section of the site. Once we have received your application we will either invite you in for an assessment and audition or – if you already clearly meet the entry criteria for the course you have selected – we will offer you a place.
When applying for a BIMM Brighton course through UCAS you will need to enter our Institution Code - B39 and the Brighton Campus Code - N.
Performance-Based Courses: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals and Songwriting
If you are applying to one of our performance-based courses and are a UK-based student we will expect you to attend BIMM for an audition and assessment. If you wish to visit us and be assessed before you submit your UCAS application this can be arranged by contacting our admissions team directly on 08442 646666, emailing info@bimm.co.uk or by filling in the form below.
Music Business and Events Management Courses
For courses which do not involve a practical performance element we will generally be able to make you an offer based on your UCAS application and will take into consideration your existing or expected qualifications and the strength of your personal statement and reference.
Music Production Courses
For all Music Production Courses you should also apply through UCAS and will be required to submit a digital portfolio. Details on how to upload your digital portfolio are available in the Music Production Courses section of our website.
Personal Statement
You must include a personal statement with your UCAS application. There is a video guide to writing a personal statement on the UCAS website.
Please write your statement as a word document so that you can check your spelling and grammar and then simply copy and paste it into the personal statement section on your UCAS application. There is a maximum of 4000 characters. Please use paragraphs with your statement as this makes it clearer to read. We advise that you keep a copy of your personal statement.
UCAS Deadlines
30th June 2013 – Last date any UCAS applications will be forwarded to BIMM. Any applications received after this date will be put in for clearing by UCAS.
22nd August 2013 – Clearing will open for applicants who applied after the 30th June 2013. They can only select one course at a time.
